IRENE BARTOLOMÉ (b. 1988; Barcelona, Spain) is a filmmaker, film editor, and producer.
Her work exists at the intersection of documentary and fiction, focusing her interest on the relationship between the built environment and its inhabitants, as well as exploring the concept of the image as a ruin.
She founded
Lemu Helu, a production company based in Barcelona, to support unconventional films and artistic projects.
Irene is currently living in Beirut, Lebanon, where she has just completed the feature-length film
Dream of another summer and is preparing an augmented sound work composed for the space of the cinema, shot in Beirut.
She holds a BA in Film Editing from
ECAM Film School (Escuela de Cinematografía y Audiovisuales de Madrid), a
Master's degree in Creative Documentary from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, and an
MA in Film and Screen Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London. She was also a collaborative fellow at
UnionDocs Center for Documentary Art in Brooklyn, New York, during 2014–2015.
